“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
Hebrews 10:35–36
In this Sunday’s message, Pastor A my Perez invites us to live fully convinced of what God has said, even when we can’t see it yet. Faith is more than a vague hope or blind leap; it’s a way of standing, a way of living, and a way of moving forward.
Faith Calls Us Forward (Into Action)
- Faith is the way grace becomes real.
- Ephesians 2:8–9 reminds us salvation is God’s gift, received “by grace through faith.” Faith isn’t passive it’s the standing under (hypostasis) of what God has promised, the legal guarantee that we will see it come to pass.
- Hebrews 11 defines faith as both substance and evidence, a reality that supports us and proof that brings truth into the light.
- Faith is not blind optimism but living in alignment with what God has spoken.
- Like Abraham, faith calls us to act to leave what’s familiar and move forward even “not knowing where we are going” (Hebrews 11:8).
Faith Calls Us Higher (Into Kingdom Reality)
- Faith calls us out of self-reliance into Kingdom reality.
- Psalm 20:7 challenges us: What are you trusting in? Career? Comfort? Plans? Or the name of the Lord?
- Abraham and Sarah’s story shows us that faith wrestles.
- They laughed at God’s promise, tried to fulfill it their own way, and yet grew strong in faith as they gave glory to God (Romans 4:20).
- Faith is not the absence of doubt but choosing to trust God’s word above what we see, one step at a time.
Faith Calls Us Homeward (Into Eternity)
- Faith is anchored in eternity.
- Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob lived in tents: mobile, dependent, expectant because they were looking forward to “the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God” (Hebrews 11:10).
- Faith reorients our allegiance.
- It keeps us from clinging to the past or building a life just for the here and now.
- It allows us to wave at the promise from a distance and still not shrink back, because our hope is not just in the promise but in the Promise-Keeper.
