In this message, Pastor Kevin invites us to ask a deeper question: do we actually trust Jesus, or have we just learned to chase moments? Walking through the Gospel of John, he reveals how sensationalism and apathy keep us stuck and reminds us that the works of God point us to deeper belief and real life in Him.
From personal obedience to desperate faith, Jesus invites us to trust Him in every area of our lives, calling us out of distraction and into a steady, daily trust that reshapes the way we live.
In a distracted world, it’s easy to miss what God is doing right in front of us. We can move through life on autopilot, consuming but not truly seeing, present but not aware. God is inviting us to slow down, become present, and prepare our hearts to actually recognize and steward His work.
We are wired by culture to chase what’s dramatic, emotional, and constantly new. Like the crowd following Jesus for bread, we can seek what He does rather than who He is. But stimulation fades, and God is inviting us into something deeper than momentary experiences, a steady trust in Him.
After cycles of disappointment or overstimulation, apathy sets in and tells us nothing will change. Even when God moves, it’s possible to remain closed off, doubting or disengaged. Apathy keeps us stuck, but Jesus invites us to wake back up and trust again.
The signs of Jesus were never meant to be the end goal, they were written so that we would believe and have life. Trust is what brings alignment back to our hearts, thoughts, and rhythms. As we continually return to trusting Him, our lives begin to be restored and reshaped from the inside out.
Personal Invitation – Wedding at Cana (John 2:1–12)
Jesus invites us to trust Him in the private, unseen places of obedience. What feels small or hidden can reveal His glory in powerful ways. Trust often starts with simply doing what He asks.
Desperate Invitation – Official’s Son (John 4:46–54)
Trusting Jesus means believing His word before seeing the outcome. In desperate moments, He invites us to walk in faith without immediate evidence. Trust is choosing to keep walking even when nothing looks different yet.
Healing Invitation – Paralyzed Man (John 5:1–17)
Jesus meets us in long-standing pain and asks if we truly want to be made well. His healing goes beyond physical, reaching emotional and spiritual places too. Trust means believing He can restore what has felt stuck for years.
Provision Invitation – Feeding of the Five Thousand (John 6:1–15)
Jesus invites us to trust Him with what feels insufficient. What we see as lack, He sees as an opportunity to provide. Trust places what we have in His hands and believes He will multiply it.
Chaos Invitation – Walking on Water (John 6:16–21)
In moments of fear and uncertainty, Jesus comes close and invites us not to be afraid. Trust is recognizing His presence even when circumstances feel overwhelming. He is steady in the middle of chaos.
Sight Invitation – Blind Man (John 9)
Jesus opens our eyes in ways that others may not understand or believe. Trust means holding onto what He has done, even when it’s questioned. It’s a personal encounter that reshapes how we see everything.
Life Invitation – Lazarus (John 11)
Jesus invites us to trust Him in places that feel dead or beyond hope. He is not limited by what we see as final. Trust believes that He still brings life where it seems impossible.
There are areas of our lives where we try to stay in control, but Jesus is inviting us to surrender them to Him. Trust may look like obedience without clarity or faith without immediate results. He is calling you to believe Him personally, right where you are.
As a church, we are invited not just to believe in Jesus’ works, but to continue them through the Holy Spirit. We are called to step out in faith, pray boldly, and trust that God will move through us. This is an invitation to become a people who live with real trust, pointing others to Him through our lives.
